Regular dry fire practice will make you a better marksman, but it can be tough to figure out where to start. Here's a short routine you can use to improve your skills and make sure you don't lose competency while you're stuck at home.
This routine takes about 10 minutes (don't rush it), and will help you with the fundamentals. Dry fire is about "perfect practice", so it's not necessary to use a timer (focus on getting it right).
Using our Home on the Range Target:
From the holster, draw and "fire" one shot on 1-6. Make sure to follow through on your trigger pull and keep your eyes on the sights all the way through the shot. Repeat 3-4 times.
From the holster, draw and fire one shot on 1 and one shot on 2. Reholster, draw and fire one shot on 2 and one shot on 3. Reholster, draw and fire one shot on 4 and one shot on 5. Repeat 3-4 times.
Dry fire the Bill Drill 3 times, taking a 1-minute break between each repetition.
Dry fire the Wall Drill.
Before you start with dry fire, make sure you're doing it safely! follow our tips for safe and effective dry fire practice.
